Retail Business Analyst

 

Position Overview

 

Comark’s I.T. department has an opening for a Retail Business Analyst;. This associate is responsible for engaging with business and technical stakeholders to ensure technical and business changes are implemented efficiently & successfully.  Acting as a resource, this associate is highly skilled with technology and has a deep understanding of retail processes which gives them insight into potential risks and      opportunities associated with making changes across a large enterprise.  This position is based in Mississauga and reports to the Director – Strategic projects.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Defines and documents business functions and processes. Identifies opportunities for improving business processes
  • Develops and documents detailed use cases for the purpose of creating test plans, evaluations plans & change management plans
  • Work with stakeholders to develop, communicate, and implement project plan.  Complete with scope, timelines, approaches and deliverables
  • Assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes.
  • Facilitate discovery and requirements gathering sessions
  • Evaluates third party software packages
  • Ability to manage, organize, and analyze large, complex data sets (multiple variables, multiple time periods)
  • Convey requirements and design concepts to stakeholders
  • Facilitate problem-solving/solutioning discussions and general communications with stakeholders
  • Provide support for project management, development and QA teams
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment by facilitating information sharing and team cooperation

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Deep understanding of the retail industry is a must, including knowledge of:
    • Planning, allocation, sourcing and merchandising process
    • E-Commerce, Brick &mortar and Omni-channel business processes
    • E-Commerce, Brick &mortar and Omni-channel store fulfillment processes
    • Loyalty programs
    • General understanding of retail practices

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a business analyst
  • Excellent presentation, facilitation, interviewing and workshop skills ;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and conflict-management skills;
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, overcome confusion and simplify complex situations
  • Knowledge of application and system development life-cycles including planning, requirement, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and post-implementation activities
  • Comfortable working with complex data with strong analytical and conceptual skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and work on simultaneous projects under tight deadlines;
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management, communication, and analytical tools.
  • Some travel may be required.

  • Aptos merchandising and WMS
  • Aptos (TXT) Merchandise Financial Planning and Assortment Planning
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud
  • Micors XStore POS
  • MS Dymaix
  • Gerber/Younique PLM
  • Avanti Payroll
  • MS Visio
  • MS Project
  • Proficiency with SQL queries an asset
